THE SURVIVORSHIP GAP

Treatment

You rang the bell. People called you brave. The appointments eased, the phone went quiet - and suddenly you were meant to be “back to normal.”

But your body feels different. Your energy is unpredictable. Your mind is juggling fear of recurrence, grief, and the pressure to get on with it. This is where Breast Wise steps in.

  • Evidence-informed guidance for physical recovery and late effects
  • Space to process the emotional impact of diagnosis and treatment
  • Support to reweave your routines, relationships and identity
  • Practical tools you can return to long after our work together

How BreastWise helps

Breast Wise offers bespoke support for women navigating breast cancer recovery - from the first days post-surgery through long-term survivorship.

Together, we’ll gently explore what you’ve been through, what you’re carrying now, and what support will feel genuinely nourishing - not like another thing on your to‑do list.

HOW breast wise SUPPORT YOU

Four Pillars of whole woman recovery

Each pillar weaves together evidenced based insight, lived experience, and deep respect for your unique story.

Nervous System Regulation

Learn to recognise when fear is driving and regulate quickly. Evidence-Based EFT signals safety to your nervous system and interrupts chronic activation. Fear does not have to run your life.

Metabolic Health & Nutrition

Understand how food, glucose, cortisol, and inflammation interact in your recovering body. Without diet dogma or anxiety. Optional CGM replaces guesswork with real clarity.

Physical Restoration

Rebuilding your relationship with a body that has been through so much. Fatigue, sleep, scar care, body image, and intimacy post-treatment - the whole-woman territory that clinical care rarely touches.

Emotional Processing

Recurrence fear, grief, identity shifts, anger - the parts of recovery nobody prepares you for. ACT gives you a framework to hold difficult emotions and build a life led by your values, not your fear.

I found my coaching sessions valuable and would encourage anyone struggling to meet with Katherine. Katherine brought an awareness to me and was able to support me through my journey.

Founder of BreastWise offering a warm, calm smile

Kia ora, I’m the founder of Breast Wise - a breast cancer survivor, mental fitness practioner and companion for this tender chapter of your life.

About BreastWise

Evidenced-based Science knowledge meets lived experience.

Breast Wise was born from a simple, aching gap: so much attention is given to diagnosis and treatment, and so little to the complex, non‑linear time that follows.

Drawing on professional training, ongoing research, and the reality of navigating my own breast cancer journey within the New Zealand health system, I created Breast Wise as a calm, grounded space where nothing you share is “too much” or “too messy”.

I work with people across New Zealand and beyond, with a particular commitment to inclusive, culturally responsive care for our local communities, Asian communities, Māori and Pasifika whānau.

Credentials & training

Grounded in evidence, centred on you.

  • Post‑graduate study in oncology and survivorship care
  • Training in trauma‑informed and somatic‑based approaches
  • Ongoing supervision and professional development
  • Active collaboration with oncology, physio and mental health teams
  • Fully insured practice, adhering to NZ health & privacy standards

Values & commitments

Care that honours your whole self.

BreastWise is built on:

  • Gentleness over grind - honouring capacity, not pushing through

  • Curiosity over judgement - every feeling is welcome here

  • Collaboration over hierarchy - you are the expert on you

  • Justice‑minded care - acknowledging systems, not blaming bodies

  • Deep respect for culture, identity and lived experience

You've already taken the hardest step. The diagnosis.

Everything from here is an investment in you. In your resilience. In your life beyond this. You don't have to figure it out alone - and you don't have to be further along to begin.

READY TO TAKE ACTION

You don't have to do this alone.

Whether you're newly diagnosed, finishing treatment, years into survivorship or supporting someone you love - there is a place for you here. Let's find the right starting point together.
